Meet the Officers
Overview
The California Theta Chapter officer team is made up of eight Executive Board members and eight Chairpersons. The reasoning behind this specific number of Officers stems from the wisdom of having “too many cooks in the kitchen” and the reasoning why a larger team is not necessarily more efficient than a smaller one.

Hailey Clark
She/Her
Hailey Clark is a fourth-year pursuing a BS in Computer Science and a BA in Philosophy. In addition to her role as president for TBP, she serves as a Senator for the College of Engineering in ASI and as the Conference Coordinator for the Student Philosophy Association. She is planning to become a lawyer specializing in cyber law. Outside of school, Hailey enjoys drawing, playing her drumset, and spending time with her dog.

Nikolas Urgiles
He/Him
Nikolas Urgiles is a third-year Aerospace Engineering student with interests in UAVs, spacecraft, robotics, and propulsion. He is involved in engineering organizations including AIAA, ASME, and ESRA, and is especially interested in the development of autonomous systems and emerging aerospace technologies. Outside of academics, Nikolas enjoys playing soccer, tennis, and video games.

Lauren Van
She/Her
Lauren is a fifth year Electrical Engineering student, with an interest in power infrastructure and public transportation. She is the current Electrical Team Lead for Cal State Long Beach’s Chem-E-Car team, and also serves as Treasurer for CSULB’s chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Lauren initiated with Tau Beta Pi during the Fall 2024 semester, and has previously served as President and Secretary for the CA Theta chapter. In her free time, Lauren enjoys roller skating, gardening, and studying foreign languages.

Ethan Michael Hinds

Ethan is a fourth year mechanical engineering student, with a strong interest in power generation, cooling systems, and aerospace. He also works on CSULB’s Chem E Car team as Design Lead along with our Treasurer, Lauren. Ethan initiated with Tau Beta Pi during the Spring 2025 semester, and has previously been our Events Coordinator. Other than engineering – Ethan enjoys cooking, cards, billiards, and playing music.

Noleena Fahy

Noleena is a third year engineering student with a strong interest in water resources, particularly in reverse osmosis and sewage water treatment. She is also involved in AIChE’s chemE car, as well as SWE. She currently works on campus at the SRWC’s rockwall. In her free time, she enjoys running, live music, writing, and exploring.

Thomas Bartolotti

Thomas Bartolotti is a third-year aerospace engineering student at CSULB also pursuing his master’s through Beach EDGE. His primary focus is as an undergraduate research assistant developing solid and hybrid rocket propellants and researching their mechanical properties. Outside of academics, Thomas enjoys music and spends his time playing the guitar and drums.

Hope Ann Rheeman

Hope is a fourth year chemical engineering major with a minor in environmental engineering. While she is still exploring the many paths this field offers, she is particularly interested in renewable energy and wastewater treatment methods. Through engineering, she hopes to help design systems that reduce environmental impact and promote long-term sustainability. In her free time she enjoys skiing with the snow club, hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends.

Khoa Anh Vu

Khoa Vu has a BA in Computer Science from California State University, Long Beach, specializing in cybersecurity. He is a recipient of the Edison STEM Scholarship, which has supported his academic and professional development in the field. His interest in cybersecurity stems from a passion for protecting the integrity of personal data and preventing unauthorized access. Outside of academics, Khoa enjoys reading fanfictions, baking, digital drawing, and exploring new culinary experiences.
Chapter Advisor
Chris Braga

Chris graduated from CSULB in 2023 with a bachelors in electrical engineering, emphasis in power. They serve the California Theta chapter of Tau Beta Pi as chapter advisor. Chris currently works at the Port of Los Angeles as an electrical engineering associate and is certified as an Engineer-in-Training by the California BPELSG. They are working toward their professional engineer license. In their free time, Chris likes ballet, writing, and playing Dungeons and Dragons, usually as a DM. They enjoy hearing from chapter members and are always open to messages – whether it be about industry, preparing for the FE exam, school, TBP, or anything else, including hobbies.
